Sep 20, 2026 - Grade 3 (Sunday PM)

Dear Parents, Hari Om!

We are very excited to have your children in our class. Following is the recap of this week's class. With Pujya Gurudev's Grace and our Swamiji's blessings Bala Vihar, this is the 2nd week of Balavihar!

Prayers: We chanted Om and started with opening prayers. This helps the kids settle into devotional mindset and focused mindset.

Recap from last week:

We recapped with kids what we did in the last class i.e opening Dasavatara Stotram, Sri Guru Stotram, Story of Bhagavatam and the main characters and about Naimisharanya forest.

This week:

- Kids learnt names of all 10 Avatara's

- We then recited 1st Dasavatara Stotram, of Kurma Avatara

- We did two Bhagavatam stories. First about Sri Ved Vyas ji and his conversation with Narada Ji and what made Vyas Ji write this poem and the context behind it. Kids were excited to hear about Narada Ji and how he was reborn as son of Brahma Ji.

- Our next story was about King Parakshit, his encounter with Kali on the banks of Saraswati river, what the king learnt from the badly hurt bull, what Dharma is and the bulls representation of Dharma in today's Kaliyuga and cow being Mother earth.

- Kids also watched Swami ji's video about Chapter 6 Bhagavad Gita which will be covered this year.

- Lastly, kids participated in an activity of standing on 1 leg, which was in sync with the story of King Parakshit and the bull.

- Followed by this was our closing prayers

We are so glad to see participation of all kids and the stories they share from what they have learnt. There is active participation by everyone in the class.

Here are the Prayers we chant each week with reference page numbers from prayer books. We encourage parents and kids to recite them at home as well. Sangeeta Ji will also send a audio recording of stotram and bhajan:

1. Om Sahana Vavatu- page 8
2. Vakratunda Mahakaya - Page 27
3. Sarawati Namastubhyam - Page 12
4. Guru Brahma - Page 61
