Hari Om! Parents,

Summary of today’s class ( Oct 2nd)

Opening prayers:

Started the class with Om

 Om Sahana Vavatu

Om Sri Ganeshaya NamaH

Om Sri Saraswatyai NamaH

Om Sri Sadgurubhyo NamaH

Today we talked about what is very special about this month. We spoke about Navarathri and about Goddess Parvathi, Lakshmi and Saraswathi and their vahana and about their significance. Students were so excited about Golu. Some students were mentioning about the dolls and the stories that they see in Golu and also about yummy food.

Then we taught them the Shlokas with their meaning.

   - Vakratunda Mahakaya

   - Saraswati Namastubhyam

   - Karagre vasate Lakshmi

Then we did the yoga incorporating Sanskrit numbers while doing yoga. After Yoga we did meditation starting with meditation gong and the students and the parents had to sit down calmly with eyes closed and count the stones that we are dropping during their meditation.  After the meditation was completed we asked the students and parents for the count of stones that had been dropped. Most of the students were very close with the count and few came up with funny numbers.

After meditation we taught them Sanskrit numbers. We taught the class from 1 to 5 and also we gave them a coloring sheet to color Ekam. We gave them pipe cleaners and asked them to shape Ekam with that. Everyone did so well with their parents' help.

Then we taught them two colors in Sanskrit: Haritah and Raktah or Lohitah. We gave them matching sheets to match the colors and also we asked them to show the right color crayon from their crayon box. When we ask them to show the particular color everyone showed correctly.

Then we sang Bajan -  Amba Parameshwari and Great God Ganapathy kids were enjoying both Bajans.

Then it was story time and students listened so quietly and curiously about “Vaishnav devi comes home”. After story time they did Devi craft very patiently. They all enjoyed the craft.

We ended the class with the ending prayer. Then we assembled in the temple for Arathi.

Please Note:

Our next class is on Oct 23rd. We will be having a short class so first we will all meet in the classroom as usual, after that we will be celebrating Saraswathi Pooja at the temple. Happy Navarathiri!!

Pranams,

Malini and Parth.

Sep 11, 2026 - Shishu Vihar (Friday)

Hari Om! Parents,

With Gurudev's blessings, we started BalaVihar for the year 2026-2027.

As we both are new teachers Malathi ji was guiding us how to lead the class. Thank you Malathi ji for guiding us and giving the insights of the class.

Summary of today’s class

We welcomed the students and parents with starting prayers, and a brief outline of
this year's curriculum and house rules of the classroom.

We played a game by passing Ganesha idol with music. When the music stopped the students should introduce them and we asked a few questions like who is their favorite god, what color they like etc. parents also helped the kids to answer. We asked the students how Lord Ganesha looks like. They all came up with beautiful answers like he has big ears and has a trunk and with a big belly.

Then we gave a Ganesha coloring page and the students were so excited and they colored it so beautifully with good patience.

Then we played the Hare Rama Hare Krishna game by forming a circle and we jump forward when we say Hare Krishna and we jump backwards when we say Hare Rama. Students and parents had fun.

Some parents had to leave to their older kids class to meet their teachers. Then we assembled in the temple for Arathi and Pledge.

We had a great start!!

Our next class is on Sep 18th

Pranams,
