Oct 4, 2026 - Grade 3 (Sunday PM)

Hari Om Parents!

With Pujya Gurudev's Grace and our Swamiji's blessings, all kids are learning and enjoying Balavihar classes !. Here is a recap of the last class.

- We chanted Om and started with opening prayers. This helps the kids settle into devotional mindset and focused mindset.

- Recap of all prior stories. In addition we are repeating names of all 10 Avatara's.  Repetition will ensure they know all 10 names soon.

-  Dasavatara Stotram - We recited the 2nd and 3rd shloka, which is of Kurma and Varaha Avatara respectively.
- Bhagavatam stories - Kids heard and learnt the next two stories. First was the continuation of King Parikshit's conversation with Kali where Kali lives in Kings Kingdom. All of them were told about what Yuga is and the relation of Kali's personification in this story.
- Our next story was about King Parakshit and  Rishi Samika. We covered what the wrong and right acts were in relation to King Parakshit and Sringi.
- Kids then learnt some basic pronunciation of Sanskrit words which will help them in Bhagavad Gita chanting.
- Followed by this was our closing prayers

It is always amazing to see how so many kids already know a lot of stories and the many characters they are able to relate to.

Quick Reminder: Here are the Prayers we chant each week with reference page numbers from prayer books. We encourage parents and kids to recite them at home as well. Sangeeta Ji will also send a audio recording of stotram and bhajan:

2. Vakratunda Mahakaya - Page 27
3. Sarawati Namastubhyam - Page 12
4. Guru Brahma - Page 61

Dear Parents, Hari Om!

Pujya Gurudev's Grace and our Swamiji's blessings, all kids are learning and enjoying it !. Here is a recap of this week's class.

Prayers: We chanted Om and started with opening prayers. This helps the kids settle into devotional mindset and focused mindset.

Since this was a short class, we recapped Avatara by watching a short video. We also recited the 1st two Dasavatara Stotram.

After this we all went to the template hall for Jagannath Rath Yatra. Kids had lots of fun seeing the story of Puri, about Sri Jagannath, and finally spent an amazing time preparing the Rath. I am sure most parents were around and witnessed the coloring, wrapping and decorating various parts of the Rath. The activity culminated with Sri Jagannnath's Rath Yatra around the ashram temple hall with lots of chanting. We will share pictures and videos on the whats app group.

It was great to see all kids participating and getting points for Arjuna's Arrow's team.
