In this class we discussed the following
1.Prakruthi - the true nature of man that he should try and live and abide by. Vikruthi - when man changes what his natural ideal state should be resulting in a less than optimal life and actions
2.Meaning of Chin Mudra used in mediation - the middle, ring and little finger representing body, mind and intellect. Each has its own suffering. Body - aging and death, mind - sukha and dukha, intellect - paapa and punya. However the index finger represents the jivatma and connecting it to the thumb that represents paramatma represents the fact that the jivatma needs to detach from the other 3 in order to be one with God. The Chin Mudra is also the hand symbol of Dakshina Murthy in our temple. We did a few minutes of guided mediation as well
3.We played a game of 2 scenarious and the effort that the kids put in to accomplish the goals of the scenarios. Then the results of their actions were chosen randomly from 4 options - yes - result they wanted was accomplished. No- it did not happen, Later - they got the result but at a later time. Something else - something totally different happened. Then we began the discussion on karma or actions and their association with results. We will continue the discussion on karma in the next few classes.
