We had some meditation time for the kids who came to class early. We were all dressed in yellow 💛 for our BalaVihar Houses Inaugural assembly, representing Bajrangi's Bolts.
We had a brief class with a quick discussion about how our mind works and the tendency for the mind to wander. We recapped what is happiness and what is considered as being successful. We then went to the temple for our assembly.
Swamji has given us the theme, "Temples of India" for this year's House activities. The children learned the story of the Puri Jagannath Mandir in Odisha and saw a video of the Rath Yatra celebration. They then answered a few questions about what they learned. The kids then were tasked to work together to build and decorate a Sri Jagannath Rath. Then they took their Rath on a "Yatra" throughout the temple chanting and dancing while pulling their creative creations.
We are very proud of the kids for their amazing teamwork. They really enjoyed the activity! Jai Jagannath!
